Elegant heater, take your time to assemble

This is really a 4-1/2 star product, almost a 5. The only reason I can't give it a 5 is a couple of minor dings on my particular unit (see below). The heater is just perfect for our newly renovated patio; it's elegant and definitely professional grade. Much nicer than the ones offered at the box chain stores. The hammered bronze finish really adds a classy touch. It is tall - be aware of the height depending on where you are thinking to place it. You'll want a step stool handy when you assemble it. It arrived safe and well-packaged. One of the legs the base was slightly tweaked and the reflector had a minor ding in one corner (-1/2 star), but nothing serious enough to consider service for. Assembly may seem intimidating, but it's not difficult if you take your time and move slow. Some observations: Heed all safety warnings and instructions. Some of the hardware (especially the 3/16" screws) were not in plastic bags but already ******* into their locations in the lower and upper supports and wheel assembly. That's not a problem by any means, just be aware it may seem like you're missing parts if you do your initial inventory of supplied parts, and of course you may have to remove some screws as you assemble pieces. Two of the lower supports are fitted for the Block Belt, two are not. The printed assembly instructions don't make any mention of this, so pay attention and look for the sticker on the bottom plate as to where those supports attach (else you'll be doing some disassembly and reassembly). Loosely fit all screws in an assembly step before tightening any, so you can align or tweak parts as necessary. Other than that, just go slow, follow each step, and you should have no problems. Great to be able to assemble the whole thing with basically just a screwdriver. I followed the startup procedures as described and it lit up first time; no problems with the pilot light or flame. Like all tube heaters, the heat dissemination is less than the "top hat" heaters (about 10' max). But that's fine for our use. Since I've only had it a few days, I can't comment on the long-term reliability. But so far we are very happy with it. If you are looking for a patio heater that is "a cut above", I'd recommend this one.
